Employee Spotlight: Brian Piazzi

Meet Brian Piazzi, Celtic’s Copywriter and resident Portillo’s aficionado. When Brian isn’t busy turning our clients’ concepts into words, you can find him managing two (large) dogs and five fantasy football teams (currently leading the Celtic league). Read on to learn more about Brian, including his experience at Oktoberfest and how he tackles writer’s block.

Can you describe what you do in five words? I write words and ideas.

You recently went to Germany for Oktoberfest, what was the best thing you ate/drank/did? The beer was amazing, the food not so much. I ordered a cheeseburger one day and what I got in return was a cheese square on a bun with no meat. The best memory from it all was probably having a table at the biggest tent in Oktoberfest. (We can only imagine the people watching)

What’s one of your favorite pieces you’ve written as a Celt? Marconi Foods was a really cool project to be a part of. We created recipe videos
in-house that used different Marconi products. Before filming, our team met and mapped out how the shoot should go and created a shot list. After knowing the different shots we were going to have, I was able to write the steps of the recipe. I had the opportunity to have fun with it and get creative. (Yes, we were taste testers, and yes, the videos turned out awesome. Watch one here.)

It’s almost turkey time, what’s your go-to Thanksgiving dish? I love the classics— turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce (the dream team). My mom makes- about 10 different types of pies, from pumpkin to banana, we’ve got it all. (The office is expecting leftover pie)

Ever have writer’s block? How do you beat it? Yes, all the time. When I do get stuck, I usually try working on something else or bounce ideas off the team to get those creative juices flowing. “Team work makes the dream work” – Brian Piazzi

Top 3 most used apps on your phone? Twitter, ESPN fantasy football, and shamefully, UberEats (No shame in the delivery game)

Tis’ the season for binge watching. What are you watching right now? A lot of Succession, Better Call Saul, and some Bill Burr and Dave Chappelle standup. (Another dream team)
